Welcome to our final blog. The children all had a great time at Farmer Teds last week and here are some photographs from the trip.
In the final week of term the children will be completing some work for their records of achievement folders which will be getting sent up to their new teacher.
We will be doing lots of Come and See work on TREASURES. The children will be thinking about treasures around them, life and personal treasures. They will be thinking about God's world and how to treasure it.
On Friday we have our leaver's mass and people are most welcome but obviously space is a premium. We bid a sad farewell to many staff who are moving on to pastures new.
The children can also bring in games and toys to play with on Friday for a toy day. Please make sure nothing expensive or electronic comes into school.
A special thank you and good luck to Miss Dugdale, Miss Samson and Mrs Sharkey. They have all been fantastic in helping Year one and two this year and we will miss them a lot.
On behalf of the teachers and team have a great summer and thank
you for all the support you have given us. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
Best wishes

Transition Days
The children will be moving to their
new class teacher for two days next week. Here are some activities the children
might come across:
SHIELD: We will split into 4 sections: name, pictures of family,
favourite things, favourite subject etc. Children do them during the handover
session in the last week, then we will have them displayed in the classroom for
the first week back in Sept.
HALF FACE: We will take a digital
photograph of each child (on a blank background) and then print only one half
of each photo out in black and white. Using pencils the children then draw the
other half of their face. The effect is fantastic and the children love seeing
the display on the first day of the new term.
BOOKMARKS: Each child wrote and
decorated their name on one side and on the other drew pictures of their
favourite things eg pet/animal, sport, character, place, number etc. We then
laminated and cut them out. At the beginning of the new school year we gave
them back to the children during their first individual read.
The children make and decorate a
name card to go next to their coat hook. Some choose to do it using ICT, others
draw etc. The new labels are there for them, next to their coat space, when
they return in September.
This week
we will be reviewing division, time and using number lines.
