Welcome to our blog this week. This term brings us to the final chapter of the year and it is very busy . On Thursday we will be sending out homework too.

EUROPEAN WEEK

This week we are having a European week. We will be doing lots of activities throughout the school while the football is on and as we approach the Olympics. we are practising sports day a lot too this week.
There are a few children without their kit or their pumps are too small. Please can you make sure their pumps still fit them. 
 
We hope the sun flowers have grown and feel free to bring them back to school to plant around the grounds. The children have enjoyed planting the seeds and also the bedding plants.

We hope to start going to the allotment this half term to plant flowers and vegetables.

Year 2/ Year 1/2

RE
We will be continuing with our new topic RULES. We will be exploring that every day there are rules for different places such as home, school and the neighbourhood. We will be looking at what happens when rules are broken. We will be thinking about what happens when we have no rules.

Maths Year 2

This week we will be linking all Maths to football and countries. We will be using tallies, drawing bar charts of favourite football teams and also making 3d nets of footballs.

We will be testing the children on their x 2, x 3  x5, x10 tables. Some children are completing tests with both multiplication and division on them too.

Please make sure that your child has instant recall of these timetables.

English

This week we will be basing all our work around different countries. We will be learning about France and Paris. We will learn some French vocabulary linked to greetings and weather.

We will be concentrating on Spain and Spanish too. We will be learning about classroom equipment . We will be finding out about Spanish life as well as cooking tortillas.

This week we will be learning all about Europe and then we will be concentrating on Spain. We will learn about Spanish life and Spanish numbers, colours and days of the week. We will learn what classroom equipment is called too. We will be reading a Spanish version of aliens love underpants. We will be singing lots of songs too. We will be making  tortillas too.
